Frugal Food Tip: Cheap Pizza Sauce

Published by another_mother at 9:35 am under Frugal Food Edit This

What a great product.  Crack open a jar or a can, and you can make your own pizza or pizza snacks in mere minutes.  And, what about squeezable pizza sauce?  How easy is that?

Yeah, it can also be a little pricey, so here’s an alternative:

Pick up a can of seasoned tomato paste, such as roasted garlic, basil and oregano, whatever your preference.  Mix it with 2-3 cans of water depending on your desired taste and consistency (mix in water slowly to get just the right amount).

For less than half the cost, you now have pizza sauce.

Want an inexpensive option for the squeezable version?  Save your next empty ketchup bottle, pour diluted tomato paste into it, mark the label appropriately, and there you go!
