Saving Money on Soft Drinks and more
If you aren’t quite ready to replace all your beverages with water (as discussed yesterday), here’s a way to ease into less costly habits when it comes to soda, juice, coffee, and other beverages. Instead of cutting out all the drinks you currently consume, simply cut down on the amount you now purchase. Replace some drinks (or all of them some of the time) with water.
Tea is another good option. A box of ordinary, “no frills,” tea bags can often be purchased for around $1.00. You can drink hot tea or iced tea for about one penny per glass.
For some, tea is an acquired taste, which means people tend to add a good deal of sugar to it when they begin drinking it. If this occurs in your household, simply continue decreasing the amount of added sugar until you enjoy the tea with very little, if any, sugar.
Speaking of sugar, when it comes to soft drinks you sweeten yourself, try using three quarters of a cup of sugar instead of a full cup.
