Freezer or Pantry Cooking

Published by another_mother at 7:23 am under Frugal Food Edit This

Here is an option to help lower grocery bills and it’s quite simple.  The timeframe is up to you:  once per week, once per month, etc.  Just skip a trip to the grocery store at regular intervals, using only what you have at home.

It’s not as difficult as it might sound.  As you begin this process, you might be surprised by just how much food is actually going to waste.  Don’t you hate throwing food away when cleaning out the fridge?  I sure do.

Those leftover pieces of chicken might not be enough to serve as is, but they might just work in soup, stew, or a casserole.  Or, make them into chicken salad.

Those few frozen vegetables in the bottom of the bag will make a good addition to one of the above items.  That last bit of cheese will make a nice sauce for frozen vegetables.

Get creative as you clean out the freezer and pantry.  Every time you skip a trip to the store, you save money.
