Sew Simple

Published by another_mother at 11:08 am under Frugal Tips Edit This

The math for this one is real simple.  A spool of thread costs a whole lot less than a piece of clothing.  So, if a garment or other fabric item has a small tear, loose hem or seam, or any other damage that can be repaired with needle and thread, it’s worth taking a little time to learn how to sew.

The most important things to keep in mind is to tie the ends of the thread in good knots.  Leave enough thread when finished to tie good knots at the end of the stitching as well.  Try to use small stitches of even sizing and spacing.

Sewing clothes instead of replacing them can save you a ton of money.
